From Aberdeen Cycle Forum

Now April is here we’re getting excited about our big day out on the 25th when Pedal on Parliament comes to Aberdeen.

To coincide with the main event in Edinburgh, our ride will depart from Hazlehead Park at 1200 and ride to Marischal College where we expect to meet with the Council’s Cycle Champion, Councillor Ross Grant and others to talk to them about cycling matters.

But mostly the ride is about raising the profile of cycling in Aberdeen, so we really hope that as many of you as possible will join us on the day. It’s an easy ride of just over 3 miles and slightly downhill. The ride does take place on normal open roads and there are no special traffic management measures or closed roads, so the ride is mainly suitable for those comfortable with riding in traffic. The route crosses some busy roundabouts but there are walk-around options for most, and if anyone wants to miss out all the roundabouts, then why not join the ride from Albyn Place / Rubislaw Terrace gardens instead?

Further details are available on the website. There will also shortly be a poster and some handlebar flyers for you to print off and promote the ride to your friends, club or workplace colleagues. Remember, the more people we get to come along, the more we will raise the profile of cycling in Aberdeen. If you are passionate about cycling, the environment or air quality, then you really should be there! ... e_page.php
