Hello

Postby goldring81 » Sun Aug 12, 2012 8:19 pm

Hi All,

Finally getting around to introducing myself and to say a little bit about me.

My name is Brian, I originally hail from Brighton, met my future wife online who happened to live in Aberdeen, bit the bullet and moved up 3 years ago, tied the knot last year and had my first child a baby girl in March of this year.

Cycling wise I used to cycle a lot from the age of 15 - 25 (am 31 now), only ever rode for my own pleasure so never joined a club or did any races, so that side of things is all new to me, i'm sure I be picking various folks brains on how to take part in races etc.

Life circumstances meant my bike fell into disrepair and I could not afford to do it anymore, after moving up here and getting my life on track I decided I wanted to buy a bike, my wife let me but only after we got married, shortly after we got married my wife fell pregnant so I never really got going until a couple of months ago and I am slowly beginning to get back into the groove of it.

So that's where I am at, 6 year break and just starting out again.

I bit the bullet and decided to go to Ellon this morning to go on a club run, I would personally like to say a massive thanks to those who were there today, have to forgive me can't remember names. They showed great patients with me as I struggled up the hills and got increasingly tired towards the end. It is very much appreciated and certainly made me feel welcome. It has inspired me to stick at it and work towards getting back and hopefully better than I was when I gave it up 6 years ago.

If you ever need any help at all feel free to give me a shout, never done it before but am a keen learner. :D

Regards

Brian

Hi Brian, welcome on board. I've been with the club since 1993 and you've already done as many Sunday runs as I have

In my defence Colin, I'm hoping the Large Hadron Collider is going to find a way I can split in two so I can commissaire & ride

Not at all Colin - first to admit I'm a night-owl. More likely to catch up with you at an evening TT than anywhere else though Brian. Cheers, Paul
