Hi all

I am off to race at the first round of the UCI Para-cycling Road Work Cup in Sydney on the 4-6 May. Lora and I will ride the TT and the road race.

I know you are all keen to hear how I am getting on so I have started this thread to give some updates.

So far, I have traveled to sunny Manchester where I will train until Saturday when We leave for Sydney.

I have enjoyed a couple of lovely sunny days in Manchester. I even managed to get along to the Velodrome last night to watch the Good Friday Track Meeting and cheer on some of our Para-Cycling team mates who were racing for the first time in the colours of their new team, Para-T. It was great to see them all giving it large up against some top level AB riders.

We fly out to Sydney later today. I am not looking forward to the long journey but it will be worth it when we get there.

Hi all

We have arrived safely in Australia, we are staying in a lovely hotel on the beach in Wollongong. I can best describe it a little like Stonehaven but warmer.

2 days training done so far, we are still getting acclimatised but the jet lag doesn't seem to be too bad. The weather so far has been showery but it is still warmer here than in Scotland. I have had my shorts on everyday and even put on suntan lotion this morning.

I'm looking forward to an easlier training session tomorrow and maybe even a coffe run on Friday :D

We have relocated to Sydney now and are staying in a fantastic hotel in the Sydney Olympic Park which is a really impressive place.

The TT is to be held here in the park on Friday and the RR will be Thursday on a motor racing circuit nearby.

We have settled into our digs now at the Olympic Park. It is truly inspirational to be here in this Olympic venue and to see how the Australian nation embrace the sporting and outdoor life.

Race day tomorrow!

We have been out for a spin this morning in the sunshine and now We are just resting up for the afternoon.

Our RR is at 1317 Sydney time (you folks will be in bed!)

Updates will be on the BC website and also live on their Twitter feed.
