Lead 2014 is an exciting programme led by sportscotland and Youth Sport Trust, in association with Glasgow 2014.

The programme is aimed at developing the leadership skills and harnessing the enthusiasm of young Scots in the build up to the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games and in its legacy, while engaging them with sport as a whole.

Lead 2014 invites every secondary school in Scotland to send a selection of young people to take part in one of six free conferences in universities across the country, including: University of St Andrews; University of Edinburgh; University of Strathclyde; University of Stirling; University of West of Scotland; and Robert Gordon’s, Aberdeen.

Every secondary school in Scotland, of which there are 376, is invited to select up to three teams of four young leaders aged 14+ for the university conference.

Confirmed conference venues/dates are:

* University of St Andrews – Tuesday 8 March
* University of Strathclyde – Friday 11 March
* University of Stirling – Thursday 17 March
* University of Edinburgh – Friday 25 March
* University of West of Scotland – Thursday 30 March
* Robert Gordon’s, Aberdeen – Thursday 28 April

The launch of Lead 2014 took place at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow in January 2011.
