This is great to see.

Any Ythan QL riders could do well to get their names down for this. Doing this coupled with your local coaching will reap massive benefits, gain great experience and mix with other riders from clubs throughout Scotland.

Whether you just want to learn the basics and enjoy bike racing with your club or want to win the Tour de France some day, this is the sort of thing to get involved in.

No pressure though because these type of training and coaching events should be great fun no what level you are at or want to be at.

Get In!!

Just back from Mark McKay - after chasing up about progress and asking other questions.

"All Ythan applications are good to come for the school (road bikes only, no tri bars). I'll be forwarding further info later next week!"

I guess this refers to those applications already made. If you haven't booked yet you could still ask. There seem to be quite a few of us going.

Five Ythanites at the session today plus various hangers on (parents). 30 miles of chaingang work in the morning starting in groups of nine and building to larger groups later in the morning. A few offs, but none involving the QL squad as far as I saw.

In the afternoon there was a lecture about bike fit and a then an inspirational workshop about what makes a good rider and how to progress through stages. Very good and would have been even more relevant if there were more races available in our area.

Another hard day tomorrow. On th etrack in the morning and turbo and roller work in the afternoon.

Robbie looks shattered now. TFB :P

Robbie put in another 38 miles on the Sunday training. He was outside all day. He was absolutely shattered at the end of it. Strangely quiet coming up the road ;)

Zak, Craig and Woitech (sp) spent the morning inside on rollers and turbos. no hands and one legged on the rollers!

Laurie's group finished at lunchtime and there were some races in the afternoon - blooming fast.

One thing is clear, there are far more opportunities to race and train youths in the central belt. I would say that appart from a few notable exceptions they are light years ahead of Aberdeen district.

Andrew and Stephen Brown were down from Deeside Thistle and seemed to enjoy it s well.
