Youth Tour Of Scotland

Hi

The 2012 Youth Tour of Scotland – April 6th – 8th, 2012.

Please find attached an initial promotional document for a 3 day youth road race on fully closed road circuits next Easter weekend with the support of the local council and police force.

This will be a unique opportunity for youths to race a full stage race on big road circuits in the UK – something normally only possible for the youth age category on the continent (eg the Assen Tour in Holland).

Organised by the same team that promoted the very successful 2011 Inter Regional Road Champs, the 2012 event will be ‘open’ to entries very soon and will make use of several new and improved venues in and around the Perth area, including a fantastic race HQ and team accommodation facility at Strathallan School.

There is sure to be a good deal of interest from riders wishing to compete in the 2012 Youth Tour of Scotland and with limited field sizes, preferential entry will be given to teams of 4 riders in both the boys and girls events. A perfect chance to learn team racing tactics (for both riders and coaches) in a great racing environment and a perfect opportunity also, for those wishing to practise their team riding ahead of the 2012 School Games in London in May next year?

The 2012 Youth Tour of Scotland would be pleased to accept entries from teams of 4 riders from:
Regional Teams
Club Teams
Racing Teams
Composite Teams (put together by yourselves)
Composite Teams (put together by the race organiser from individual entries)
National Teams
International Teams may be invited to compete

*If you would like to register your interest to compete at the 2012 Youth Tour of Scotland then please forward an email to alan.denman@scottishcycling.org.uk who will be able to provide you with entry details as soon as they become available.

Best regards

May be an ideal chance to see how our new district is shaping up and great learning experience for riders. To me we should be looking to try and either get a district youth team of ADCA only or hook up with either Dundee or NoSCA to get a team down here. It's a fantastic opportunity and being at the IRRC showed how much more experience riders down south have at stuff like this. Be good to get a debate going with our new look district and see what comes out of it

Sent a copy of this to the Browns. Great if we could make up a team.
