Ythan Evening TT (Amended version)

Postby malcolm » Wed Jun 19, 2013 9:43 pm

Nothing like a lorry load of chuckies or using the professional term, surface dressing, to knacker months of planning by Russ. Not sure if I would have preferred running the buzzard gauntlet on the 15 course or going up Ardlethen Hill. Me and the Ardlethen course don't get on,mainly my fault for being too heavy to get up the first climb quick enough but the course is always tough. Actually rode it ok tonight, but like Sunday had to cut my gearing a few times which cost me time then made a mess of the turn. Never knew I was a veteran, used to be when you turned 40 but now they like to let you have a few shotties en route to your 40th birthday, bit like an induction.

Stunning ride by Simon tonight and again our Qls doing some great rides. Fantastic to see the younger ones out as well, Tom especially using his clipless pedals for the first time in a race.

Many thanks to Russ for putting the race on.

Great evening, thanks Russ. Fantastic effort by all our QLs tonight and the first TT for Tom with clips on the tricky Ythan course - well done, watch those times tumble...

Yes, good job Russ, all the volunteers and Peter, particularly for re-jigging it so quickly. My first open event of the year  , but hope to get a few more in now - if only for the buns and sandwiches afterwards

Firstly, I need to apologise for an error in the vet results:

2nd Vet should be Greg Quinn.

3rd Vet should be Laurent Schirrer.

Secondly I would like to apologise for the last minute change of route necessitated by road works

Finally I would like to thank all the marshalls, especially those who assembled at the meadows and whose services were not required after the route change!
