Do BC require all clubs to affiliate to a District? or can they go it alone? I'm not suggesting that any club doesn't affiate, but I was just wondering.

Clubs have to be affiliated to the SC.through a District
BCF have nothing to do with Scottish Clubs.
Race insurance is done by then and points on Licences for RRs

Could a club be affiliated directly to the SC instead of having a District?

If the District were to fold, would all the money go to the member clubs?

I'm just wondering because it doesn't seem to say anything about this in the constitution. I remember last year when we updated the Ythan constitution one of the subjects SC wanted us to put in was about what would happen to funds if the club were to fold.

From what I understand of the law any club or non-profit organisation that ceases to exist can make a charitable donation tax free of any funds remaining within an account but must pay tax on any monies returned to its membership.
I think this is the case regardless of whether it concerns an individual club or a larger organisation made up of several subordinate units.

Unfortunately it looks doubtful I will be able to attend the AGM due to family and work commitments.

I had hoped to attend the last meeting and also this one, but I can rarely attend on Thursdays as Nicola is out and im left holding the baby.

so please accept apologies.

I would have liked to have been more involved in Ythan and ADCA matters, but I just dont have the time to do what I need to do, let alone want to.

Col is right,

In our constitution (which we all voted on earlier in the year :-) )it says if we are winding up the club then the funds can be:

Given to a charity
or given to another club with similar sporting purposes
or given to the governing body

We are asked to put something in our constutuion last year so that if at any time in the future the club were to be wound up there wouldn't be any challenges over what happens to the funds. This was requested by SC and Aberdeenshire council so I'm surprised that the District doesn't have something similar in the constitution.
