Scottish Cycling Team TT Champs - Aboyne

This event is being held locally but is a National Championship and I would like to see us enter a couple of teams if we can.

Don't be put off just because this is a national championship, on our worst day none of our teams will be rank last - I promise you that!!

I don't believe Youths can enter (will check for sure but I doubt it) I would like to see us try to get a couple of squads together (this might suit some of the more road race orientated riders - even the 'Sportivers' and Triathletes as it is not really the same as riding an individual TT - it is more about maintaining a good pace as a group and cohesive effort as a team to get round in the best possible time.

Teams of 4 required, varying ability is ok but some proximity in fitness/experience and ability is preferable and if we can get together for a couple of training efforts before hand (maybe meet in Ellon on the alternate Tuesdays from the confined for some training together?!?) then all the better.

Who is up for this?

Aye I'll have a crack at it. Plenty practice will make a big difference for this event so the more often we can get together the better we will be.

I am going to grab the bull by the horns and throw out a list of names of likely suspects for doing the Team TT,

now this is by no means a wishlist or even the start of picking teams for this but I have in my mind a few names of people I believe are more than capable of forming quite strong and cohesive teams (perm any group of 4 from these names) who is in and who is out? (and who have I missed out?!?!)

Col Duncan
Jordan Stronach
Craig Ward
Lewis Goodlad
Bill Bavidge
Dave McIntosh ;)
Bill Dallas
Russ Craig
Scott Young
Mike Giles
Malcolm Grant
Hamish Cooper
Thomas McLeman
Scott Gray
Alan Gordon
Chris Cooper
Colin Allanach :?
Andy Duncan

There is potential for at least 3 teams just off the top of my head, I am hoping we can quite soon have a meet up on a Tuesday night (non confined Tuesday) and try a few groups doing some through and off round the Methlick circuit, maybe meet at Ellon or Tarves.

We will also need support crew as you can have a following car for each team at the Team TT Champs with spare wheels, loud-haler, Director Sportif, Massuer/massuese, Cake Provider........

Day after Ride The North - I'm out.

I'm doing Ride the North as well but would be up for it as long as we don't go nuts for the two days before. Mr Allanach.
