Considering that 90% of ABZ riders are supposedly TT riders then i was expecting a field of 50+

Well I have Iona most evenings through the week otherwise I'd be there. Don't know what everyone else is up to.
Perhaps, Andy, you need to call it a sportive and charge £50 to enter? Seems the only way to get folk riding up hills these days.

Col, please do this event on your turbo trainer at home with the resistence set at the appropriate levels for the course and text me your time on the night, if you win I shall take your (discounted) entry fee from your winnings. ;)

Have a funny feeling we might have an Ythan winner that way?!? - with the greatest respect to Paul Winter, that is the only way we are going to have an Ythan winner based on those entered so far, unless it is the prize for being most 'Old School' though I'm not sure you can win just by being old and having something to do with schools?!?

Mr D had my apologies a couple of weeks ago both as rider or helper as I am on call. I'm with Col though, Im happy with what I have managed to race this year with childcare, lots in the same position who can't race week/ weekend in and out. But Ali makes a valid point about verbals and entering on the night, not fair on those who have taken the time to enter or the organiser.

I think DTCC members need to take a long hard look at themselves. Our evening league generally attracts 50-60 riders. It's been cancelled this week so that people can take part in this event and there's like half a dozen of us! Where are the others? We had a good turnout for the Massie Shield, but nothing for, in my opinion, a better event. Maybe people just want to do standard distances, the relentless pursuit of PB's and chasing the BAR. Me? I'd much rather do events like this any day. And I like to support Ythan events. The best and friendliest club in the district IMO.

I'll be there, no chance of winning, but having fun.

Here's the link to the course map:

I guess the younglings will be away at the training day at Edinburgh this week so that's why they are not riding.
May I remind you of that scene

Andy
Sorry I won't be entering your event. I just can't knit fast enough.
There won't be much of a showing from the divas@deeside generally. Holidays, travel distance, fed up of being soaked through on a bike this summer, etc, etc.

I refuse to rise to Ali's mudraking. So last year.

Have a great event Andy.

So that'll be new club sponsor/rider for the best club in the district next year then!! ;)

Shelley - not "mudraking" whatsoever, simply my HONEST opinion, which I've always given. We get 50-60 for the EL, why can't more than 6 of us support a local event? What's that got to do with "last year"???

Mike - I won't be living here next season, so won't be a member of ANY club in the district. Sponsor? I'm not MD of FW anymore, so not up to me.

Ythan is a great club, with a real community feel. As I said above in my response to Shelley, I'm just being honest. Which is what you'll always get from me :-)
