Yes we are.

It was originally going to be a road race organised by John Hunter. This all changed when JTWB defected to AW. Peter Clark then volunteered to do an APR that day instead since the Scottish road race champs are on that day. However this threw BC and Sc into a whirl of activity which has only just been resolved. We are hoping that the BC website will show it up any day now (is there a holding your breath smiley?)

The APR is meant to help those that fancy a bit of racing into the sport. We had hoped that the youths would have been able to enter and set them off as a group but Peter had it clarified that this is not possible.

Details will follow soon.
May I remind you of that scene

Is it a regional C event or can you get points from an APR?

Unless it's changed this year;

APR's can be raced with BC Silver membership and without a race licence. No points awarded.

There was someone on Braveheart claiming to have been awarded points from an APR this year but that sounds like an error by the comm or the organiser or BC. No point in getting points as the handicapping that allows slower groups the early start means nothing once you are in a RR bunch.

Women got points from the Lake APR earlier this year, I checked.

The points for women's racing can be a bit erratic though, might have something to do with SCU employees?!? Certainly saw that a woman in Vets and Women's RR a couple of years back got awarded 30 points for being first across the line out of the women, when the winner of the race (a male, over 50 got 10 points for winning the race outright!!)

To cut a long story short, APR do not normally carry any ranking points.

I don't think Dick Stewart is available as commissaire now and haven't heard who is replacing him. Yvonne is down as second com, but neither of us should be first comm as we are club members.
