Etape Caledonia 2012

Off to a Sportive event? 'Racing' a charity event or just going somewhere nice with your bike?

That was a slightly strange event. I snapped my chain on Saturday, and luckily the bike shop in Pitlochry was still open at 7pm to sell me a new one.

On the day I missed everybody else at the start and went off a few waves late (O instead of K.) I eventually finished in 4.19 compared with 4.22 last year, which was slightly disappointing there and then. However on getting the results I came in 478th, compared with 1129th last year, so most of the times must have been down.

Gordon Jack was caught up in the horse incident

I never saw the horse, but I think I was passed by some spritely snails. I tried taking the shell off one of them to see if it would go any faster, but that just made it sluggish :D
May I remind you of that scene
