Cairngorm Classic 2011

Postby Colin A » Fri Dec 17, 2010 9:18 am

Big squad of Ythanites on this last year. A good day out and good course. Anyone joining me for 2011?

Cairngorm Classics 4th June 2011
The UK's highest event on a public road (632m)- Finish on Scotland's Alpe D'huez! The routes take you from the heights of Cairngorm through the north of the Spey Valley. This lesser known area has stunning scenery and quiet roads. Pass some of the world's most famous whisky distilleries, but don't stop for a dram! The road undulates through forest and moorland before the final climb to the finish. Two distances to suite your fitness and ambition. Another classic is born.

Col,

can you post a link to entry website etc, please? I might be interested in a tilt at this, this year.

I've entered as well as Nove Colli warm down unless I've sawn up the bike. Will you and Fiona be riding tandem on these events Andy?? Well done Fi by the way.

Good to have you aboard John.

With the best will in the world, I rather hope Fiona won't be at Cairngorm as there is a road race World Cup event in Spain a few days later and it would be good if she was doing that instead. John, maybe we can get a shotty of a tandem and rip it up at Cairngorm together, it will be just like the ADCA Road Race again - me sat just behind you not doing much pedalling!!

Oh pity Andy, I flogged my Alves tandem last year, it was really fast mtb style road slicks, and sloped down to a bairn's size but that would have been me on back! Only thing stopping us doing Cairngorm in 4 hrs would be not leaning enough into the corners!!

doing it in 4hrs doesnt count unless you down your own body weight in cakes, I set the record last year with cakes.

That's me entered now, seems like a fair squad from Ythan. Has everyone recovered from the Bealach climb yet? I hear the wind practically blew you up the hill this year
