Etape Caledonia 2011

Etape Caledonia 2011

Postby Nick_H » Wed Oct 13, 2010 9:05 pm

Anyone doing this next year? My insider tells me that it is already 70% subscribed (so it looks like it will fill up by Christmas again).

I've put down for a sub 4.30 time (you can always hope can't you!).

They have instigated a code word for riders wanting to go off in the same wave. The word I have used is Ythan (original eh!!).

After missing out on the 2010 ride and getting fankled up with the "Tack Man" in 2009 I'm looking forward to a good ride next year.

John,
Hope to do the Cairngorm 100 as well but fear it might coincide with << http://www.caledonianchallenge.com/ >> which I've said I would participate in.

So many things to do and so little time to do it in!!

Karl did this in 2010 for the first time and is doing it again in 2011. He's also put my name down too . But I guess I'm racing against the road opening behind me and actually finishing. Karl has offered to cycle with me and support me rather than him beat his last years time! But we'll see nearer the day if I can speed up a bit and get the distances in so I'm not too slow for him and his patience!

looks a bit hard Nick!

Im going to do a 2 x 100 mile day coast to coast at some point, thats my main target for next season, apart from TTs

Loneys, the Etape isnt as hard as they make out, with a wee bit of traning and plenty of food, you'll be fine.

John D. Excellent. Looking forward to trying to keep up with you on some club runs ahead of the Etape!

Not a chance I'll be pushing your time in Pitlochry though ;)
