John what a conincidence we both gotthe same time on the climb even though i stopped half way up for a couple of beers and a quick smoke!
Was it just me or did other people get a perverse plesure in overtaking some of the jokers with low numbers ( expecting to finish in under 4 hours), the ones on mountain bikes and shoppers, the same ones walking up the hills and the same ones whose realistic time would have been closer to 6 hours, that is unless somebody strapped as giant rocket up there arse in which case i would have gladly lit it for them.

No John,

That was just you ;)

I was more worried about being passed by bikes with baskets and someone walking up the hill would easily have gone past me.
May I remind you of that scene

I took my number off at the very hasty toilet stop pre-race, forgot to tell you the pavilion ran out of bog roll. I've just realised they'll now know the culprit, it was a bit like the Izal stuff!

Hopefully you'll never run into the back of a car or bus.

Aye, when I were a lad, I seem to remember a DTCC rider (now GCRT - you know who you are  ) going through a wifie's rear car windae & ending up in her front seat during a Nth Deeside Road 25TT. Didna half gie the wifie a fleg!

Twas there that night. We'll mention no names. Not even a scratch. Nae helmet, Was so long ago you didn't need them.
Nae prizes for guessing who.
However know of others riding with head down who have suffered severe injuries.
Get really worried when I see riders racing with their head down most of the time.If I'm commissaire usually speak to them after event. Commissaire in the line of fire if a bad accident occurs.

Not sure about 'Not even a scratch'. I seem to recall a good few 'scratches' on his boatrace, probably picking bits o' glass oot o' his beard for a few days efter!

I'm sure he'll confirm :?:
