Ythan 10 -16 year olds

Postby Colin A » Fri Mar 26, 2010 10:27 am

We need a name for the Junior section of the club. Some sugestions are:

Ythan Sprogs team name,

Since we want the Juveniles to be affiliated with Ythan,:

. Ythan Juniors

. Ythan Minore (Italian for juniors)

. Ythan Minore Velo (Italian/French for Ythan Junior Cycling)

. Ythan Colts

. Ythan Pythons

. Ythan Panthers

Any other suggestions?

. Ythan Youths

If you want a funny name then Ythan Pythons is fantastic.

I would like to use Ythan Velo Jeunesse (direct translation 'Ythan Bicycle Youth') pronounced 'Juu - ness'.

We could also go for 'Ythan VC Jeunesse' (VC = Velo Club) or 'VC Ythan Jeunesse' or any combination of these terms.

Just thinking about the long term view and the obvious links between our current club colours (Allez Les Bleus!) and the French being the most bicycle obsessed of our European cousins.

Just a thought (or two).

Andy's suggestion about Velo is good, very French and lots of famous clubs that have helped young pros have it. Velo Ythan Jeunesse would be good, switched around from Andy's, FYJ just like Francois De Jeux

jings don' let the kids pick the name - we are in the X Factor/Text generation.

It will end up being 'LOL Ythan Jedward TMI Power Rangers' or something.

Ythan Transformers?
Ythan Ninjas?
Ythan Younglings ?(Star wars refference apparently)

I like the continental feel of some of the names but it might look a bit pretentious? I am heading down the Ythan Junior Team route. Ythan JT.
