Unsaleable bikes wanted urgently

Postby megamouth » Fri Aug 17, 2012 3:57 pm

I'm on the scrounge for bikes of a size to fit teenage kids. A colleague of mine has a project due to start in a week's time aimed at getting some of the 'lost & lonely off the streets and teaching them how to fix up a bike, which they then get to keep. Unfortunately the ones he was promised have gone astray and he's only just found out. If anyone has anything lying around that would be suitable for 11 to 17 year olds (not ower big most of them) I'd really appreciate them. He needs 12 fairly urgently but will take anything he can get his hands on meanwhile. Thanks, Paul :D

There is an old BMX bike in our shed that Robbie had.
May I remind you of that scene

We have a couple of bikes that we're willing to donate:-

1 x Giant Mountain Bike
1 x Ridgeback Hybrid

(both bikes are intact and in reasonable working order but do need a check over)

Thanks Bill, Colin. How is it best for me to collect them? I'll be at the confined tomorrow if that's convenient and can bring a trailer along - five bikes in the back of my van would be a bit of a squeeze.

Any donations of 'teenager sized bikes from any other quarters most welcome - Thanks, Paul :D

P.S. Somewhat 'ropey' is absolutely fine as well, as we want the kids to have something to work on too.

Paul,
We have a 1980s spec MTB going spare. Frame is good, drivetrain OK but tyres are probably in need of replacement.

It is yours if you want it. It is in Ellon.

Four down eight to go :!: I'll have my trailer in Ellon at the confined this evening if anyone else has anything they want rid of. As long as the frame isn't broken/bent and it will fit a teenager (and they come in lots of sizes) it'll do fine. Ta, Paul

Paul,

Are you still going to be in Ellon on Saturday morning? I can bring those 2 bikes we spoke about in then if you are
