Rollers

Postby Colin A » Tue Jan 19, 2010 8:55 pm

I had my first try of rollers this evening. Stephen at Holburn cycles asked if I had ever tried them and gave me his to try.

I'm still a wee bit like bambi but I haven't hurt myself yet.

Oh and Robbie had a shotty as well since he's been despearte to try out his bike. Little bugger was too good so I sent him to bed early.

Rollers are awesome, great fun but potentially terrifying. Robbie looks very smooth, good pedalling balance obviously - if you don't pedal smoothly you end up 'tank slapping' from side to side, which can be quite exciting.

We bought a set this winter because Fiona was wanting them for the track. I have managed to ride my TT bike on the TT bars but it was hairy to begin with.

I haven't been on them for a while so will have to learn how to do it all over again. Totally different from a turbo and you get tired very quickly if you are pushing a biggish gear, I find. Might use them for race warm-ups next season, we'll see!!

Think some pillows might be required Colin, so that you can have a softish landing. Whats the clip of the disc wheel going round all about or was that you truing it after another crash? Depeche Mode in the background as well, cult stuff in the making Col!

Any bets on Robbie A for Alford in August?

Don't worry Miss Fudge, there are no corners, he'll be fine.

Sean's correct. FLCs. thought you might get that one Malc ;) . DM is on the playlist too though.

The disc video was to show someone who bought the disc over the net.
