I am aimlessly occupying myself on a bus by reading reviews of bikes. I have just looked at two reviews for the Boardman Team, one an aluminium framed version and the other carbon. The aluminium one is better specified (I think) and fractionally lighter, yet it's the carbon one that seems to wow the reviewers. Does anyone know why?

It may be that the carbon frame has a better blend of comfort and efficient power transfer. It may be that whoever wrote the reviews is easily impressed by getting to play on a supposedly better frameset and has let objectivity slip to one side.
While reading the reviews it's always worth having a look at the adverts as well. Let's just say there can be a correlation between the two.
